Pakistan is Hoping to Host Major ICC Events in the Future

Following the return of high-profile cricket in the country, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has set sights on staging major ICC events in the near future.

PCB CEO, Wasim Khan, has said that Pakistan will put forward a strong proposal for hosting at least 1 big global event in the next cycle. The current cycle of the Future Tours Programme will run until 2023.
He said this during a press conference with MCC President, Kumar Sangakkara, on Thursday at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
Lauding Sangakkara’s efforts, Khan added that the former Sri Lanka captain and part of the team that got attacked in 2009 has always been a huge advocate for Pakistan cricket.
This year’s Asia Cup is also scheduled in Pakistan in September, however, if India opts out of the tournament, PCB will have to look for alternate options.
